Change of Heart

These past couple months have been filled with some pretty big changes. A relationship coming to an end, a new state to call home, and learning the ropes of a new job. I've been busy adjusting to all of this, which has caused me to be quieter than usual and more introspective. These experiences have definitely taught me a lot about myself.

But I'm loving living back in the Northwest and have quickly felt at home here. Getting new Washington plates for my car is what made it all feel real for me. You can bet that my sentimental-self is saving those California ones though!

Cue The Sun

I tagged along with my grandma and brother for a short trip to Sonora on Tuesday. It was just to pick something up from my grandma's friend but we decided to make a day of it and do some antiquing after eating a little lunch. It was a nice way to spend the first day of Spring. Also, I turned 23 on the 11th! I had to work most of the day so it was a low-key birthday celebration with family. My mom and I did some shopping the day before and picked up my favorite ice cream cake. And I got these cute set of owls from the boyfriend! And last but not least, Macie was looking worried that she might not make it on the blog so I had to calm her fears.

Might As Well Be Spring

After more than a month of quiet time here I'm back and feeling inspired to make more consistent posts. In all honesty I have not been up to much besides working, becoming obsessed with Downton Abbey, skyping with the boyfriend, and spending time with family. My photo-a-day project didn't really work out as planned once I forgot one day and then another and then didn't feel I could catch up. But today I brought my camera with me as I saw some signs of Spring and visited a thrift shop while wearing my favorite bright-colored pants.

So expect more updates from here on out as well as an outfit post tomorrow!

The New Year

Looking back, 2011 was a great year. Like any other year, it had its ups and downs. I'm sure that 2012 will be the same way, and I'm welcoming any and all of it with open arms. I have a really good feeling about this year. 2012 has promise, and I'm excited to see how this all pans out.

Here is a list of goals I plan to work on in 2012:

◈ Take more photos & keep up with 366 photo project.
◈ Develop & grow blog.
◈ Keep sight of want versus need.
◈ Dedicate more time to spiritual development.
◈ Try five sewing projects.
◈ Go easier on myself & other people.
◈ Early to bed, early to rise.
◈ Be in the now & enjoy the present more.

Favorite Corners

Her way of telling me she's ready to be played with. Here's a little peek of my favorite spots in my room at the moment. I moved back in with my mom after finishing school so I don't have full decorating privileges around the house but I don't mind practicing/getting inspiration for when I am out on my own (hopefully early 2012).
