Wildwood

Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled
After countless mosquito bites and two bee stings, I'm back from a weekend of camping. It was nice to unplug from technology for a few days and really enjoy everyone's company and all of the nature around us (minus the bugs). It made for a memorable last camping trip before I move up north in a few weeks. I probably need to get busy on that whole packing thing!

PS - I'll be sharing the rest of the photos from my trip to Arizona this week. Happy Monday!

These Days

UntitledUntitledUntitledUntitled Lately I've been spending a lot of my time working, enjoying the warm outdoors, and going on little trips with my family. My camera usually remains in my bag during these outings unfortunately. It can be hard to find a balance between documenting enjoyable moments for the blog and actually being in the moment. Anyone else feel this way? So in an effort to bring some life back here, this is a little of what I've been up to. Last Saturday was spent at the lake for the day. On Cinco de Mayo my family and I went to a Giants game. It was a beautiful day for baseball and they won! And Macie keeps the plants company on the patio.

Resort Weekend

7/366 Here are photos from another family camping trip last weekend to The Lakes in Chowchilla (love that town's name!). It was definitely less rustic than what I'm used to but it was fun to see how the other half camps! We didn't partake in any golf games and instead took leisurely walks while enjoying the many palm trees and unseasonably warm weather.

High Noon

Someone is not amused that I found their hiding spot.
It was a pleasant fall afternoon for a walk through Columbia last Saturday. We weren't in any sort of rush so we leisurely walked up and down the little streets taking in all of the historical goodness. We went up to one of the set-up houses and I loved the wallpaper and some of the items inside (2nd picture), which surprised me since the 1850s isn't really one of my favorite decades of style. It's funny how inspiration can come in all different forms and when you least expect it.

Rustic Scenes

My grandma and I enjoyed another great camping weekend in the former gold rush town of Columbia. I loved being surrounded by the beautiful fall hues, which aren't so apparent yet back home, and all of the charming 49er-style decor scattered around the RV park. It's always nice to get away and engage in activities that don't involve technology, such as playing cards with some of the group and coming out 80 cents richer! That's kind of big news since I'm really not much of a card shark (at all). We also walked down Main Street and explored the little shops, museums, and ice cream parlor to see that not much has changed since past years of visiting but that's the way we prefer it. Another post coming soon of downtown Columbia.

Roughing It

We packed up the RV this last weekend and headed up to the mountains to join my grandma's camping group for their monthly trip. She's been a charter member of the Out O' Bounders (such a cute name!) for more than 25 years and they scout out various campgrounds in the area to spend one weekend a month at. I've attended a good amount of them since I was very little so it's like going camping with an extended part of my family, who always insist on pointing out how much I've grown.

Garfield always keeps an eye out for us.
